Zooey Deschanel Stuns It at the World Series, Lauren Conrad to Pen New Beauty Book

Need the latest headlines in hair trend news? Come back every Monday for the The Frizz Report for the top styles, hair transformation, and runway trends of the previous week.

Who knew game 4 of the World Series would be a topic headline in so many fashion publications this past week! It’s true, Zooey Deschanel performed the National Anthem looking like an adorable all american girl. Her loosely curled half-up half-down style and her red and white striped dress had me going “aww”.

This girl can do no wrong I thought (at least with her style and overall quirky adorableness) although many protested when they noticed she left during the 7th inning of the game. She’s a busy girl, people! And I definitely want to see another new episode of New Girl come out soon, please! [More on the Performance]

Lauren Conrad has hit the headlines again this week. Yes, again! The once reality TV star turned fashion designer turned blogger turned hair trend icon (sorry LC, you’ve got us all confused already) is now turned AUTHOR. The elegant Conrad has announced she will be releasing a beauty book. I’m kind of excited, since I must admit, I love the blog she writes with her two beauty savvy friends, The Beauty Department. Emily VanCamp Amps Up Her Style as Emily Thorne on Revenge

Last night things started to get sticky for the character Emily Thorne on the latest ABC drama Revenge. Don’t worry, no spoilers here, but I got to say I’m hooked. You can just tell there is going to be a not so lucky moment for Emily hiding right around the corner.

I am always so jealous of Emily’s attire in the show (I am still trying to figure out what that yellow dress was that she was wearing to the mother-daughter tea featured two episodes back), although for the most part I find her chosen hairstyle of ragged curls to be a little unimpressive. In the latest episode, however, she showed up to a 4th of July night time soiree with a smooth, low bun that I loved, not to mention that red dress she was wearing for the occasion.

Any of you keeping up with Revenge? What do you think of the show so far? What do you think is around the corner for the mischief crazy Emily Thorne?

Celebrity Hairstyles: Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana has not yet reached recognition as a household name as an actress quite yet, but she sure has hit headlines quite a lot lately since her slight drop off in on-screen appearances since her role in Avatar. Why, might you ask? Well, take a look at any of the many glamorous paparazzi shots of the lovely starlet and you’ll see why. She always looks fabulous and perfectly put together from head to toe and oh! That hair!

Do you share our jealousy of the gorgeous Zoe?

The Frizz Report: Last Week’s Hair Lowdown

Need the latest headlines in hair trend news? Come back every Monday for the The Frizz Report for the top styles, hair transformation, and runway trends of the previous week.

Rihanna is not only on the cover of Vogue this month, the mag named her a “hair hero” for her bold, head turn hair fashion choices. Can’t help but agree! She also went blonde for the British Vogue cover (pictured to the left). [Read more on Vogue.com]

If you missed our post on Friday, you may not know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! Daily Makeover has complied a list of 20 – count ’em, 20 – great products that have come out with special editions of your faves with proceeds going to Breast Cancer Awareness and research. Never thought this would happen, but crimped hair is back in style. At first I wanted to scream in terror, but in a way, this style can look kind of cute. If you want to get kinky (with you hair, duh!), take a look at these tips from Arrojo Salon on how to place some crimps in your locks without looking like you’ve transported back to the 80’s. The gorgeous Liv Tyler has bone structure that just makes me hate her (in pure jealousy of course), but it’s her great hair that has landed a gig to be Pantene’s new front running face for their latest ad campaign. [Get Behind the Scenes]

Singer Kylie Minogue has ditched her surfer girl highlights for a dark dye job, and I for one definitely support the change. It’s clear that brunette is the color to have this fall, sorry blondes… [See the Before and After]

Celebrity Hairstyles: Lea Michele

Last week and this week have been eventful for anyone who follows one of prime time’s most popular shows. Among all the amazing fall premiers, the beloved Glee has come back to Fox with more star power than ever. The one actress who is continuously in the spotlight? The lovely Lea Michele, who plays the ambitious Rachel Barry.

Lea always goes for simple, natural all-down hairstyles, and it’s obvious why. I don’t know how this gorgeous gal could evoke anything but hair envy (and just plain envy in general) in anyone’s hearts.

What do you think of this starlet’s long locks?

Emmys 2011: Sleek, Smooth Hair on the Red Carpet

If you missed the Emmys last night, you missed some great red carpet looks. Although most were disappointed with the hairstyles that made an appearance and their lack of “wow”, I kind of liked the simplicity.

The overall hair trend? Smooth, sleek, and very simple styles.

Most starlets went for a simple straightened shiny blowout, like Lea Michele, my personal favorite, and Gwenyth Paltrow among others.

Those who went with their hair all up kept it on the safe side with slicked back timeless locks like Evan Rachel Wood’s finger waved up-do or Katie Holmes’ messy looking top knot.

What was your favorite look at the Emmys? Were you disappointed with the simplistic hair styles?

Hair Trends: Deep Side Part

All down, all in an up-do, or somewhere in between hairstyles on the runways at New York Fashion Week seem to have one detail rampantly in common: the deep side part.

Hailing from the early days of Twiggy in the 60s, I love this look. It’s a great way to easily add some retro flair to your hairstyle, no matter what length or occasion.

What do you think, lovelies? Is the deep side part a trend you’ll snag this fall?
