So HAUTE: Our Favorite Hair Trends Straight from the Runway

From India to Paris, hair has stolen all the runway shows this season. But, only the best looks make it off the runway to the streets and red-carpet. Here’s the haute-est picks for runway looks this season.

1. Braided Side Swoop

My personal favorite braid is the french braided side swoop worn by the models at Deepika Govind’s runway show this spring.

2. Romantic “Milk Maid” Braids

Whether paired with a center part or wrapped around loosely, updo, the milkmaid braid is simple, romantic, elegance.

3. Hair Jewelry

Nicole Richie and Jennifer Lawrence are just a few celebrities recently spotted sporting this flashy hair trend.

Zelo Global Culture Holiday Series

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!   Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year not for the obvious family, magnificent feasts and black Friday deals (trust me I take advantage of it all), but for the one day dedicated to giving thanks and being grateful for our many blessings.  Gratitude leads us all to abundance and a greater purpose.  Thanksgiving also marks the start of the holidays and as a result we begin a new holiday series.

As part of our culture diversity and Zelo’s expansion into so many countries we kick-off a new series over the holidays.  We are so fortunate to have an amazing team around the world willing to share their insights and point of view.  So here’s how it works, Zelo correspondents (men or women) from around the world will contribute information on a woman’s perspective of beauty in their home country (or country where they are residing).  They will share what makes a woman feel good about herself in other parts of the world, i.e. what priority is given to their looks (hair of course is of the most interest)  but makeup, fashion, etc.is also welcome.

We hope that you too will chime in and give us your impressions, support and advice as we go on this global journey together.

We’re so excited to be able to put this together on the Daily Frizz and we hope you will find it interesting, useful and hope you will share with your friends, family and readers.

Zooey Deschanel Stuns It at the World Series, Lauren Conrad to Pen New Beauty Book

Need the latest headlines in hair trend news? Come back every Monday for the The Frizz Report for the top styles, hair transformation, and runway trends of the previous week.

Who knew game 4 of the World Series would be a topic headline in so many fashion publications this past week! It’s true, Zooey Deschanel performed the National Anthem looking like an adorable all american girl. Her loosely curled half-up half-down style and her red and white striped dress had me going “aww”.

This girl can do no wrong I thought (at least with her style and overall quirky adorableness) although many protested when they noticed she left during the 7th inning of the game. She’s a busy girl, people! And I definitely want to see another new episode of New Girl come out soon, please! [More on the Performance]

Lauren Conrad has hit the headlines again this week. Yes, again! The once reality TV star turned fashion designer turned blogger turned hair trend icon (sorry LC, you’ve got us all confused already) is now turned AUTHOR. The elegant Conrad has announced she will be releasing a beauty book. I’m kind of excited, since I must admit, I love the blog she writes with her two beauty savvy friends, The Beauty Department. Lauren Conrad goes Peach, Katie Holmes on the Cover of Marie Claire

Need the latest headlines in hair trend news? Come back every Monday for the The Frizz Report for the top styles, hair transformation, and runway trends of the previous week.

Lauren Conrad has done it again! After creating a global hair color craze as thousands of girls attempted to reacreate her rainbow hair tips, LC and her best friend colorist Kristin Ess decided to go with Ombre highlights of yet another color – Peach!

I think the tips look dreamily good (and also make me crave some serious Orange Dreamsicle – just me?), but I wonder how long this color will last. Some speculate that her first tye-dye color job was not even real hair color – or not even her in the pictures! What do you think? Should she stick with the color? Would you wear it? [Read more from Allure]

Call me crazy, but I haven’t seen Katie Holmes in the spotlight of much of anything minus tabloids since she married Tom Cruise and became a mom. However, a refreshingly real interview with the actress about daughter Suri and her future plans for a fashion label will accompany her appearance on the cover of Marie Claire’s November 2011 issue.

I never noticed it before, but how much to Katie and the newest member of the royal family Kate Middleton look alike? They could be twins! Especially in one of the shots of Katie in Marie Claire’s spread where she has her hair styled in a soft blowout – all I could think of was Princess Kate. All in all, I’d call her cover appearance and interview in Marie Claire a win. [See more shots of Katie in Marie Claire]

More than one star has done a chameleon color change last week! Katy Perry was photographed with back-to-blonde locks [Is Purple Gone, Katy?] while Kylie Minogue went dark, dark brown [InStyle Reports]. I’m left wondering if Katy will stick to the blonde or if that will change again soon. But as for Kylie, brunette looks great on her!

Leather headbands are in for fall? What do you think of this look? I think this look is very adaptable and great for any style. After all, Glamour says… [Snag it!]

Halloween is only a few weeks away! Do you know what you’re going to be? I got a tickle of inspiration for something a little fun and different from Bellasugar with their 15 Iconic Cartoon Costumes. [Be a Superhero]

Rihanna is not only on the cover of Vogue this month, the mag named her a “hair hero” for her bold, head turn hair fashion choices. Can’t help but agree! She also went blonde for the British Vogue cover (pictured to the left). [Read more on Vogue.com]

Daily Makeover has complied a list of 20 – count ’em, 20 – great products that have come out with special editions of your faves with proceeds going to Breast Cancer Awareness and research. Never thought this would happen, but crimped hair is back in style. At first I wanted to scream in terror, but in a way, this style can look kind of cute. If you want to get kinky (with you hair, duh!), take a look at these tips from Arrojo Salon on how to place some crimps in your locks without looking like you’ve transported back to the 80’s. The gorgeous Liv Tyler has bone structure that just makes me hate her (in pure jealousy of course), but it’s her great hair that has landed a gig to be Pantene’s new front running face for their latest ad campaign. [Get Behind the Scenes]

Singer Kylie Minogue has ditched her surfer girl highlights for a dark dye job, and I for one definitely support the change. It’s clear that brunette is the color to have this fall, sorry blondes… [See the Before and After]
