Would You Wear It? Half-Shaved Hair Styles

Every time I see a starlet head down the red carpet with one of these shaved, asymmetrical hairstyles, I wish I had the guts to pull something like this off with my hair. I have seen a lot of gals in real life going for a half-shaved look as well, so this is not just for the rich and famous.

I gotta ask, would you ever wear it? Or is this style best left to punk rockers and rebellious teens?

Emmys 2011: Sleek, Smooth Hair on the Red Carpet

If you missed the Emmys last night, you missed some great red carpet looks. Although most were disappointed with the hairstyles that made an appearance and their lack of “wow”, I kind of liked the simplicity.

The overall hair trend? Smooth, sleek, and very simple styles.

Most starlets went for a simple straightened shiny blowout, like Lea Michele, my personal favorite, and Gwenyth Paltrow among others.

Those who went with their hair all up kept it on the safe side with slicked back timeless locks like Evan Rachel Wood’s finger waved up-do or Katie Holmes’ messy looking top knot.

What was your favorite look at the Emmys? Were you disappointed with the simplistic hair styles?

Hair Trends: Deep Side Part

All down, all in an up-do, or somewhere in between hairstyles on the runways at New York Fashion Week seem to have one detail rampantly in common: the deep side part.

Hailing from the early days of Twiggy in the 60s, I love this look. It’s a great way to easily add some retro flair to your hairstyle, no matter what length or occasion.

What do you think, lovelies? Is the deep side part a trend you’ll snag this fall?
